Research

USF research funding surges to record $750 million, increasing impact across Florida and beyond

Industry partnerships have propelled the 杏吧性世界 to a record $750 million in research funding. The surge positions USF closer to its $1 billion goal, expanding opportunities to create new technologies that lead to better health care, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity solutions, a deeper understanding of the environment to prepare for hurricanes and more.

Moez Limayem unanimously selected by USF Board of Trustees as the university鈥檚 next president

Moez Limayem currently serves as president of the University of North Florida and was the Lynn Pippenger Dean of the Muma College of Business at USF for 10 years. His appointment is subject to confirmation by the Florida Board of Governors (BOG), which oversees the State University System.

Athletics

The 杏吧性世界 men's basketball team dominated Florida A&M at the Yuengling Center, while the women's team rolled past FIU. Men's coach Bryan Hodgson tied the second-highest margin of victory in a head coach's debut in American Conference history.

AAU Membership Fueling USF鈥檚 Momentum

USF鈥檚 historic invitation to join the Association of American Universities has taken what many in Tampa Bay have once considered a 鈥渂est-kept secret鈥 to an unprecedented new level. Being an AAU member is a tremendous milestone for USF as it formalizes USF's position as a leading research university. USF is the first public university in Florida to be invited to join the AAU in nearly 40 years and is now one of only two institutions from the State University System of Florida to serve as an AAU member.
